| THE FAIR TAX BILL |
| The FAIR
TAX BILL (HR 25) is currently in the US House of Representatives. The
bill replaces the current income tax, which penalizes productivity
and personal economic growth, with a simple consumption tax. A
consumption tax would more fairly distribute the tax burden and
eliminate most of the wasteful bureaucracy associated with the
current tax system. Title 26, the current tax code, is too confusing
for the average citizen and its over 9,000 pages can be
interpreted any number of ways. Tax code complexity not only creates
tax loopholes that can be exploited, it also puts the average citizen
in jeopardy of tax fraud when they venture beyond the simple
deductions.
The Hays County
Libertarian Party urges you to write your
congressman in support the Fair Tax Bill, House Bill
HR 25. The bill already has the support of 50+
congressmen.
