The Lone Star
Flag
From the very beginning of the Texas Revolution, some form of the Lone Star Flag, a single star on a blue field, has symbolized Texans' resistance to oppressive authority. It was flown by the opponents of Santa Anna in 1835, was designated the first Texas flag at the Declaration of Independence in 1836, and served as the flag of the Republic of Texas until 1839.

The HCLP has adopted this historic banner as a symbol of Texans' determination to oppose oppressive government of any kind.
